Guidelines for Students during the Pandemic

During these last few weeks, activity in the Academy has been under the "Green Passport"/ Negative Covid test guidelines. This decision was made by the JAMD management together with the Student Union, and has allowed us to resume many in-person activities.

However, this policy has prevented many students from taking part in the above-mentioned activities. Fortunately, there has been a great improvement in the general public health in the last few weeks. In light of this improvement, the Ministry of Health has lifted the emergency guidelines for Covid-19, which we were bound by. This positive change is allowing us to relax the limitations, but it is important to emphasize that the Pandemic is not over, and we all need to adhere to the rules below:

a) Wear a mask at all times, during practical and theoretical lessons, and in the public areas (excluding Dance lessons, Voice and Wind Instrument lessons).

b) Keep physical distance

c) Maintain personal hygiene

d) Air classrooms and practice rooms

e) All students are allowed to take part in performances that are held in the Academy building.

f) Audience members will be allowed to enter upon showing a Green Passport or a Negative Covid test in effect (72 hours).

g) Only those with a Green Passport will be able to participate in performances taking place in halls outside of the Academy, due to limitations set by the halls.

Opening the Academy building to all is gratifying, but as with every change, it poses challenges for us all. We must continue to demonstrate mutual responsibility and care for one another, and we are certain that with good will, consideration and mutual effort we can meet the challenge over the coming months. It is important for us to be considerate of the different needs of all members of the Academy community, students and faculty alike. We are at your service to answer questions, and invite you to share with us your concerns and hesitations.

If you have tested positive for Corona:

a. Fill out the Illness Report form in the student portal – additional options – requests, or using the phone app. Be sure to enter the title and the content.

b. Follow Ministry of Health directives.

While on JAMD premises, please act accordingly:

a. Courses designated as online in the schedules will remain online until the end of the academic year.

b. Social distancing of at least 2 meters must be observed at all times. Perspex dividers should be used where possible. Personal hygiene must be maintained. Masks must be worn at all times; dance students, vocalists and wind instrument players are exempt from wearing masks but must maintain social distancing of at least 3 meters.

c. Classrooms must be aired for several minutes between students' lessons. Wipe down surfaces with disinfectant wipes. Pianists must disinfect their hands using alcogel before playing.

d. In all public spaces, masks must be worn at all times (except when eating).

e. The Library may be used for individual study between the hours of 9:00 – 18:00.

f. Offices are not open for face-to-face meetings; all inquiries must be conducted by email.

g. Anyone who comes to the building will need to present a "Green Passport" or a negative Corona test in effect (72 hours).

h. The JAMD building will be open Sun-Thurs 7:00-21:30, Fri. 8:00-13:00.

i. Cafeteria hours: will be Sun-Thurs 8:00-16:00.

  • All students, faculty and staff members are welcome to enter the building without a Green Passport or a Negative Covid test. Upon entering the University campus, one should present a Green Passport or a Health Declaration.   • While in the building you must:
  • The academy is doing everything to ensure that students who cannot come to the building will still be able to continue studying via remote learning. Activities that cannot be held remotely will be completed depending on the nature of the courses and the decision of the department/faculty. Any student who is unable to come to the Academy, please notify the Head of the Department or the Faculty Coordinator privately so that we can adapt the teaching format appropriately,, maintain your privacy and ensure maximum responsiveness. Any faculty member who is unable to come to the Academy must notify the Dean of the Faculty.
  • Performances:
  • Online courses will remain online until the end of the school year. Courses that are taught in a hybrid format will remain so. The manner in which exams and recitals are held will be determined in accordance with the health conditions that will prevail towards the end of the school year and in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • We ask everyone to cooperate with the Campus Security while entering the campus grounds and the Academy building.
