Prof. Yinam Leef, JAMD President: The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance is delighted to host the professors and students from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest for the annual collaborative project RECONNECTIONS – The Art of Chamber Music. This wonderful project, which takes place alternately in Jerusalem and in Budapest and now in its seventh year, is the cornerstone of the strong artistic relationship and human bond that has been created between our institutions, a continuous journey in which we research together repertoire, share approaches for interpretation, and explore our countries and cultures. The universal language of music is a bridge reconnecting people and our mutual commitment to excellence in education is as strong and consistent as ever.

This year we plan to perform for young audiences of the JAMD High School and the Petach Tikva Conservatory, on our way to the northern city of Nazareth, where we will present The Art of Chamber Music to students at the Saint Joseph High School and to the general public in a concert at Saint Gabriel Church. Performing in Nazareth is the fruit of collaborating with Polyphony Foundation and we are very grateful to Polyphony’s Co-founder Nabeel Abboud-Ashkar and his dedicated team for their wonderful partnership in bringing this idea of visiting Nazareth to reality.
