The Honors Chamber Music Program is the flagship program of the Faculty of the Performing Arts. It brings together the most outstanding and distinguished students, who are selected each year through a competitive audition process. Students accepted into the program are awarded scholarships.
The program includes a variety of ensembles representing a wide spectrum of musical styles – string quartets, piano trios, early music ensembles, wind ensembles, wind and percussion ensembles, as well as the Eden-Tamir Piano Duo.
The ensembles receive close guidance from senior faculty members, who are among the leading chamber musicians in the country. They participate in regular rehearsals and coachings and perform in concerts both within the Academy and beyond. Their activities include participation in international masterclasses, community performances, unique international projects and interdisciplinary artistic collaborations, and participation at the annual Dina Turgeman Chamber Music Competition. Selected students from the program also perform in concerts alongside members of the academic faculty. Notable artists who have given masterclasses to program participants include members of the Jerusalem Quartet, cellist Steven Isserlis, bassoonist Mor Biron, and others.
The program serves as a hub for chamber music excellence, offering its participants the opportunity to delve deeply into the rich chamber repertoire, to learn and grow through dialogue and mutual inspiration, and to gain meaningful stage experience. It cultivates the professional skills required in the world of chamber music and enables diverse experiences in creative collaboration.
