Ronnie Reshef’s music has been described by the press as “Witty, lyrical art-song settings” (Broadway World), “Vivid, elegant… …smart, and gorgeous” (Houston Chronicle), “…Wonderfully beautiful music…” (Haaretz). Reshef’s work spans from concert music to Off-Broadway musicals, concentrating on works for the theater.

Recent highlights include When He Was Good, a new chamber opera commissioned and premiered by IMVAJ Masterclasses Jerusalem, and Childhood Sketches, commissioned and premiered by the Thelma-Yellin wind band; Upcoming projects include a new opera commission for the annual Israeli Music Festival, a miniature opera commissioned by the Israeli Opera, and a new piece for Modalius Ensemble. An orchestral premiere with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra which was to take place on June 2020, got postponed due to Covid-19.

Reshef’s music was performed by Atlanta Opera, The Secret Opera, The Qube Quartet, Thompson Street Opera, the Israeli Chamber Project, Hartford Opera Theater, and the Israel Symphony Orchestra.

Fellowships and workshops include American Opera Projects’ Composer and the Voice program, BMI’s Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, and a Yaddo residency.

Reshef serves as faculty at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and The Ono Academic College. She holds a Doctoral degree from Manhattan School of Music. Her main teachers include Richard Danielpour, Reiko Fueting, Steven Osgood, Robert Cuckson, and Tzvi Avni.
