The Cross-Disciplinary Choir performs a diverse ensemble vocal repertoire spanning musical traditions from around the globe—from African and world music to gospel, jazz, pop, and, of course, Israeli music. Operating within the Faculty of Cross-Disciplinary Music, the choir is open to students from various departments, bringing together singers from diverse musical backgrounds.
Alongside performing existing repertoire, the choir places a strong emphasis on original creation; over the years, it has performed numerous arrangements and compositions written by Academy students and alumni. The choir performs both within the Academy and on external stages, collaborating with various organizations, including the Jerusalem Municipality. It has appeared at major venues and events, such as the Jerusalem Theatre and the Jerusalem International Jazz Festival.
The choir's activities offer its singers numerous opportunities for solo performances across a wide range of styles. The ensemble was founded in 2015 by Lilach Krakauer, who has led it ever since as conductor and musical director, while also arranging a portion of its repertoire.
