The Jazz Performance Specialization Track is intended for students holding a Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) who demonstrate a high level of performance in jazz instrumental playing or singing, and who seek to deepen their academic training and enhance their ability to lead jazz ensembles and groups, with an emphasis on original creation.

The element of original creativity in artistic jazz music is a central characteristic that has distinguished leading jazz artists throughout the generations.

During the course of study, students will broaden and deepen their understanding of the components of distinctive jazz styles, as a foundation for developing an original personal language.
