Department of Cross-Disciplinary Performance

Head of Department: Dr. Roee Ben-Sira

נגן גיטרה

The program is designed for instrumentalists who wish to acquire skills that will enable them to integrate into the contemporary and multicultural music world, both in Israel and internationally. It is suited to musicians with strong academic abilities who seek to study within a challenging and in-depth framework, both at the theoretical-academic level and at the practical-artistic level, without compromising the standard or quality of either.

Key features of the department’s program include: developing an artistic voice; a weekly one-hour individual lesson; writing and original creation; representative ensemble work; accompanying singers; working with ensembles and productions; workshops in performance, composition and arrangement; songwriting and song composition; stage presence, including movement and acting studies; master classes with leading artists; studies in music theory, harmony, ear training and rhythm; and a professional, diverse academic teaching faculty.

"I didn’t come just to play. I came to understand why I play."
