The Faculty of Performing Arts and Composition comprises five departments: the Piano Department, the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments, the David Gritz Department of String and Plucked Instruments, the Vocal Department, and the Department of Music Theory, Composition and Conducting.
The faculty places emphasis on principal instrument studies through individual lessons and a wide range of workshops, including Baroque music, contemporary music, opera, vocal accompaniment, four-hand piano playing, wind instrument workshops, and more. Studies also take place within the Academy’s performing ensembles, including the Mendi Rodan Symphony Orchestra, the Jonas and Soraya Nazarian Chamber Music Program for Outstanding Students, the Opera Workshop, the Student Choir, and others.
As part of the faculty’s ongoing activities, master classes are given by leading Israeli and international artists, alongside competitions and concerts.
All of these prepare students for their professional lives.
