Each year, the Jazz Performer Competition is held by the Department of Jazz Performance in the Faculty of Multidisciplinary Music. The competition is intended to encourage creativity, originality, instrumental mastery, and command of the jazz idiom. It also aims to promote original creative work in the field of jazz.

The final-round performances are held each year at some of the finest and most highly regarded jazz clubs in Israel.
