This two-stage competition encourages the formation of musical ensembles among students of the department. Each ensemble is expected to demonstrate a high level of ensemble performance, stylistic cohesion alongside personal expression, arranging skills, dynamics, a refined musical aesthetic, and familiarity with the tradition.
