Head of Bachelor's Degree Programs in Dance

Ronen Izhaki is a choreographer, curator, and lecturer, serving as Head of the Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Dance and Senior Faculty Member at the Faculty of Dance at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In 2024, he was awarded the Rosenblum Prize for the Performing Arts.
Izhaki holds an M.Mus in Music from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and is a graduate of the Mandel Institute’s Program for Leadership in Jewish Culture. His work brings together choreographic creation and Artistic Research, with a focus on multiculturalism, identity, and narrative.
He currently teaches at the Faculty of Dance at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In the past, he taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Kibbutzim College, and Herzog College. Over the years, he has led workshops in Europe and the United States, and created projects for dance companies and dance schools around the world.
Izhaki creates together with his wife, Tammy Izhaki, and through their ongoing artistic partnership they develop works for the stage, unconventional spaces, and interdisciplinary projects. Together, they also run Archive, Home for Dance, as a space for research, creation, encounter, and artistic dialogue.
Izhaki founded and served as Artistic Director of Between Heaven and Earth, a platform that creates connections between dance, music, visual art, poetry, and thought, and curates festivals, series, and interdisciplinary projects in Jerusalem and beyond. In addition, he curated the Culture Series of the Jerusalem Foundation and the Mandel Foundation, the dance series at Beit Mazia Theater, and held additional public and artistic roles in the Israeli cultural field.
His works have been presented at festivals, in theaters, and in unconventional spaces in Israel and abroad. His choreographic activity has been supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Jerusalem Municipality, the Jerusalem Foundation, the Mandel Foundation, Mifal HaPais, and the Rabinovich Foundation.
