Drummer, composer, and pianist Yaki Levy studied at the Berklee College of Music and spent over a decade living in New York City, where he taught at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. During his time in New York, he performed and recorded with some of the world’s leading jazz musicians, including McCoy Tyner, Kenny Werner, Jimmy Heath, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Kurt Elling, Frank Foster, Philip Catherine, and Leni Stern.
Since returning to Israel, Yaki has performed in countless jazz concerts and collaborated—both live and in the recording studio—with prominent Israeli artists such as Noa (Achinoam Nini), Rita, Yehudit Ravitz, Danny Sanderson, Shalom Hanoch, Gidi Gov, and Mazzi Cohen, as well as with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Yaki Levy currently serves as a faculty member at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and the Israeli Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv.
