The M.Dance master’s degree program at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance is a unique, multidisciplinary program designed for artists, creators, performers, and educators who wish to deepen their artistic, research-based, and pedagogical practice in the field of contemporary dance.
The program offers three areas of specialization: Choreography, Performance, and Pedagogy.
The Choreography and Performance tracks provide students with tools for developing a creative language and personal interpretation, shaping an independent artistic voice, and deepening the dialogue between artistic practice and the theoretical fields of dance, the body, and movement.
The Pedagogy track is intended for dance teachers who aspire to lead innovative and meaningful educational work, while connecting contemporary theories in dance education with practical work in the field. The program focuses on leadership and community, interdisciplinarity, learning and teaching, diversity and social inclusion, and the development of educational projects and initiatives.
The studies expose students to a broad range of contemporary approaches, styles, and discourses. Alongside track-specific courses, the program includes collaborations with the Academy’s master’s degree program in Music, as well as performances, conferences, and meetings with creators and theorists from Israel and around the world. These enrich the learning experience and create connections between creation, research, and community.
