Currently attending Music Studies at UNIRIO Federal University of Rio de Janeiro state, Zé Motta is an active member of percussion and singing groups Bloco d’O Passo, Bloco d’O Passo na Rua, both directed by Lucas Ciavatta (creator of O Passo method for music education), and has been a musician and teacher at Bloco do Sargento Pimenta since 2010. Zé is currently a professor at founder and director Lucas Ciavatta’s O Passo Institute.
