In 1990 Christian A. Pohl started teaching privately and later at institutions. From 2001 until 2009 he taught at the University of Music Freiburg and between 2002 and 2008 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. In 2009, at age 34, he was appointed life time professor for piano and piano methodology at the University of Music and Theatre „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig, where he has an international piano solo class and is head of piano methodology. His piano-methodological articles have been published by Schott/Mainz, Breitkopf&Härtel/Wiesbaden and HudsonRiverPress/New York. After 20 years of developing a unique methodology concept, his book „Piano Methodology“ will be published exclusively at Edition Peters in 2020. 

In the years 2000 and 2005 he was co-founder of the International Piano Academy Murrhardt and the International Chamber Music Academy Gengenbach. From 2005 to 2009 he directed the Stubenhaus Concert series in Staufen. In 2011 he initiated the "Leipzig Piano Methodology Seminars” and is now the director of the International Mendelssohn-Academy Leipzig. Since 2015 he is head of piano department and member of the senate at University of Music and Theatre Leipzig.
