Recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including:
● The Yitzhak Navon Award for Promoting and Preserving Cultures, from the Ministry of Culture (2024).
● The Rosenblum Award for Performing Arts from the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (2024).
● Prime Minister's Award for Composers (2012).
● The "ClassiLike" Competition Award by the Israel Lottery for composing an orchestral work for children (2012).
Co-founder and Artistic Director of the "Revolution Orchestra" since 2004
In this role, Sharon created, composed, and produced innovative projects combining orchestral music, video, and electronics, such as "Replay", "The Animation Project", "(E)motion Without Movement", "Moods", "The Passion Of Monty Python" and "You and Me - Playing with Arik Einstein". Additionally, he has collaborated with and arranged music for leading Israeli artists, including Gidi Gov, Berry Sakharof, Hadag Nahash, Ivri Lider, Assaf Amdursky, Ninet Tayeb and others.
Composer and Arranger for Orchestras and Diverse Ensembles
Sharons works and arrangements have been performed by some of the most prominent orchestras and ensembles in Israel. He has worked as a music producer, composer, and arranger for the rock band "Double Profit" and produced and arranged albums for artists such as oud player Eran Zamir ("Opposing Complements") and the band "Gute-Gute". He composed works for chamber ensembles and solo players, including "The Ice Palace" and "Abyss and Horizon" for the Israeli chamber project, "Encounters" for the Hamelin Quartet, "My Folia" for the recorders player Inbar Solomon and more.
Academic and Professional Education
● Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with high honors from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, specializing in Composition, Conducting, and Music Education.
● Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
● Graduate of the Israel Arts and Science Academy (IASA), Jerusalem.
Music Education
Lecturer at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in various fields, including Composition, Orchestration and Arranging, History of Israeli Art Music, Ear Training, Harmony and Counterpoint, Song Accompaniment and Improvisation.
Teaches the final project seminar at the Rimon School of Music in the Composition and Conducting for Stage and Screen program. Leads composition workshops in diverse programs, including the The Israel Philharmonic’s Keynote Program for music education and community outreach.
Served as musical director and lecturer in various settings, including "Mu-Zika – Youth Engaging with Holocaust Songs" (Yad Vashem), the Jerusalem Music Center, the Jerusalem Conservatory "Hassadna," and more.
