Teaching Areas: 

The Israeli singer Edna Prochnik focuses her artistic work on the German repertoire. 
At the invitation of Dan Ettinger, she was a member of the ensemble at the Nationaltheater Mannheim from 2009 to 2016, where she sang Fricka, Waltraute, Norn, Erda and Schwertleite in Achim Freyer's production of Wagner's "Ring des Nibelungen". Her debut as Kundry in Wagner's "Parsifal" and her interpretations of Clytemnestra in "Elektra" and Herodias in "Salome" by Richard Strauss have been major successes in recent years. 
In addition to the German repertoire, she has also performed major roles in the Italian and French repertoire, including Eboli in "Don Carlos", Mrs. Quickly in "Falstaff", Ulrica in "A Masked Ball", the title role in Bizet's "Carmen", Santuzza in "Cavalleria Rusticana" and Suzuki in "Madama Butterfly". 

Edna Prochnik is a regular guest at the New Israeli Opera, the New National Theater Tokyo, the Opera Bastille in Paris, the Palm Beach Opera, the State Theaters of Nuremberg, Karlsruhe and Wiesbaden and the Salzburg State Theater as well as at major festivals, including the Bregenz Festival, the Bergen Opera Festival in Norway and the St. Margarethen Opera Festival in Austria. She has worked with directors such as Achim Freyer, David Alden, Christof Nel, Harry Kupfer, Gabriele Rech, Jens Daniel Herzog, Tilman Knabe and Robert Herzl. 

Edna Prochnik has sung on the concert platform under the baton of renowned conductors of recent music history and the present such as Kurt Mazur, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Gary Bertini, Marek Janowski, John Nelson, Dan Ettinger, Frederic Chaslin, Asher Fisch, David Stern, Philippe Entremont, Noam Sheriff, Jiri Kout, Mendi Roda, Harry Bicket, Srboljub Dinic, Steve Slone, Francesco Angelico, Karina Canellakis, Walter Kobera and Axel Kober. 
Edna Prochnik's most recent projects include Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle in Lyon, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Herodias / Salome in Lübeck and Filipyevna in Eugene Onegin.
One of the highlights of the last season was taking on the role of Klytämnestra in the new Elektra production by Brigitte Fassbaender.
