Call for Position of Choral Conductor and Instructor in Choral Conducting Optional tenure track

Candidates should demonstrate vast experience in conducting a professional choir in Israel and internationally. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in an academic institution.

The scope of the position and academic rank will be set in accordance with the candidate's qualifications.

Interested applicants are requested to send the following materials to the following email address choralsearch@jamd.ac.il no later than 6/6/23.

1. CV in English
2. Photocopies of diplomas and awards
3. Three letters of recommendation, to be sent directly to the search committee.
4. Links to concerts/recordings (or choir rehearsals) of choirs led by the candidate. This may be choral concerts with orchestra.

Following the initial round of review, a short list  of candidates will be invited to a second round that will include the following:

1. An audition in which the candidate will conduct a choir - the repertoire will be sent to the candidate a week prior to the audition.
2. A personal interview with the search committee.
3. A master class with students of choir conducting. The repertoire will be sent to the candidate two days prior to the class.

Travel and accommodation expenses will be borne by the candidate.
